Petro Poroshenko Block party deputy whip Ihor Hryniv announced to BPP lawmakers that the bill on the prosecution would be put to the vote on Tuesday, Serhy Leshchenko told Ukrayinska Pravda Apr. 19.
The bill, aimed to open the way for Yury Lutsenko to be appointed prosecutor general, will change the requirements for candidates and allow nominees without legal education and mandatory 10-year service in the prosecution to take the office.
BPP whip Yury Lutsenko had been interior minister in the Yu. Tymoshenko cabinet for a number of years.
