Ukraine’s ministry for the economy demands that all state-owned companies urgently conduct audit by international experts, deputy economy minister Yulia Kovaliv says, Expreso. TV reports March 18.
State-owned companies are known for their high level of corruption whereby large sums of money are stolen by their managers.
“A small part of the companies have signed audit agreements while the bulk has not. The ministry wants audit results by June,” the official said.
Only 6 companies out of 150 have legal audit reports for 2014. This year, 10 companies have signed contracts with auditors and 13 are in the process. The others are sabotaging, the official confirmed.
