The love for their grandchildren who are now fighting in Donbas against Russia and its stooges have caused both Red Army veterans and UPA fighters to make peace and realize who their true enemy is, Poroshenko’s adviser Oleh Medvedev said, speaking on Kanal 5 late May 9.
“We must thank Putin for the reconciliation. He made what Ukraine politicians failed to do. Over the past year Ukraine has changed a lot,” he said.
“Young Ukrainian patriots have become a link that united their grandfathers who had served in the Red Army and UPA (nationalist Ukrainian Insurgent Army). They realized who their true enemy is,” the official said.
