The intensification of enemy attacks on Ukraine army in Donbas must be countered in a resolute way, Pres Poroshenko said on the heels of NSDC meeting Jan. 4.
In a related move, Poroshenko ordered SBU to beef up control at checkpoints to stop the contraband, saying only companies registered in Ukraine can engage in trade across the division line in Donbas.
Poroshenko announced another supply of about 100 pieces of armor to Ukraine army on due Jan. 5 in Zhytomyr.
To beat corruption and inefficiency, the president ruled that supplies to the army are to be monitored by voluntary organizations who can advise on better and cheaper terms to buy equipment and weaponry. There is an advisory council of NGOs at the defense ministry.
