Dmytro Chervoniuk was drunk when he killed a pedestrian on a zebra crossing, our correspondent reports Sept. 2.
Aug. 30, a court in Khmelnytsky released Chervoniuk on bail. Meanwhile, the police tried to diminish the level of his drunkenness.
The relatives of the deceased protested Chervoniuk’s release on bail and staged a demonstration outside the oblast court of appeals, demanding open investigation of the murder.
Chervoniuk, 19, is a son of the Rivna businessman. His mother is a Khmelnytsky oblast council lawmaker.
