British baroness fails to get cushy job due to alleged links with Ukraine fat cats

Baroness Pauline Neville-Jones, viewed by may as a hot favorite for Premier David Cameron’s aide on security, failed to get the job after MI5 blew the whistle on her links with 2 dubious fat cats suspected of links with the Russian mafia and organized crime, aluminum baron Mikhail Chorny and RosUkrEnergo co-owner Dmytro Firtash, The Kommersant reports Aug. 16.

According to MI5, Neville-Jones’ office received 20,000 pounds from Robert Shetler-Jones who is closely linked with Firtash. MI5 doesn’t rule out that the money was donated by Firtash.

RosUkrEnergo, The Kommersant writes, has a tainted image in the West as it is, according to the US ministry of justice, controlled by billionaire Semen Mogilevich, number 10 on FBI’s list of most dangerous criminals.

As regards Chorny, who now lives in Israel, he is banned entry in the US and is accused of money laundering, illegal transactions and likely links with the Russian mafia. Chorny is the main cash cow for the Washington-based antiterrorist Summit of Intelligence Services in which Baroness Neville-Jones had been active for a number of years.

The baroness denied she knows Firtash or Chorny and has any role in organized crime. However, to be on the safe side, David Cameron appointed former head of parliament’s committee on intelligence Sir Peter Ricketts to this highly sensitive post requiring access to secret information.

The baroness saw red when she learned about the appointment, Mail on Sunday says. She threatened to resign from her present job as deputy interior minister which she got after the May elections.
