Socialist party gets new leader – Vasyl Tsushko
Economy Minister Vasyl Tsushko takes over Socialist party leadership from Oleksandr Moroz who headed the party for 20 years.“We must work so hard so that not to displease Moroz,” Tsushko said after his election by the party convention on Saturday, and suggested to appoint Moroz an honorary head of the party.
The Socialists are notorious for their political zigzagging among major parties, with Oleksandr Moroz able to play the role of a kingmaker for many years.
Tsushko was Viktor Yanukovych’s proxy during his 2010 presidential campaign.
