Opposition demands to ban Moscow mayor entry in Ukraine
Lawmaker Ivan Stoiko, “For Ukraine,” has sent a letter to the SBU and foreign ministry demanding that Moscow Mayor Luzhkov be banned to visit Ukraine due to his anti-Ukrainian declarations, Ukrayinska Pravda reported July 19.“A high-ranking Moscow official has again plunged into anti-Ukrainian declarations. If the SBU and foreign ministry stand by Ukraine interests, this official must be banned to enter Ukraine,” the letter runs.
Such declarations by Russia officials are due to the fact that “a bunch of pro-Russian politicians has come to power in Ukraine, who embrace the interests of financial clans more than the interests of the nation,” the letter continues.
On Monday, Luzhkov again confirmed his earlier call that Sevastopol be returned to Russia.
