Tymoshenko concealed catastrophic state of country’s budget, finance minister says
The former cabinet caused a catastrophic condition of the state budget endangering payments of pensions, new Finance Minister Fedir Yaroshenko told journalists March 15, ZIK reports.On examining the situation in the finance sector, it became clear that social payments were endangered. Publicly touting her victories, the former premier concealed the fact that the country’s finance system was close to a breakdown, the minister said.
“Even the former head of the state treasury Tetyana Sliuz informed the former cabinet March 9, 2010 that the funds available on the state treasury accounts will not be sufficient to ensure mandatory social payments,” Yaroshenko continued.
The Pension Fund deficit stands at UAH25 billion, the finance minister warned.
