Tymoshenko takes leave from office. Turchynov takes over as acting premier
Premier Yulia Tymoshenko has taken a leave from office, with her deputy Oleksandr Turchynov continueing to run the cabinet, ZIK reports March 3.Following the dissolution of the coalition March 2 and the vote of no-confidence in the cabinet passed by Rada March 3, the Regions party is pushing ahead to create a new coalition which would elect a new premier. Rada has 30 days to form a new majority. Meanwhile, the dislodged cabinet will continue as interim cabinet.
At the March 3 session of the cabinet the majority of ministers confirmed they will continue in office till the approval by Rada of a new premier.
Consequently, the cabinet will continue its work, Justice Minister Mykola Onishchuk said.
