Tymoshenko and Yanukovych have to clench their teeth and meet: Lytvyn
Speaker Lytvyn is convinced Yanukovych and Tymoshenko have to meet to discuss Ukraine’s problems, Lytvyn told Rada TV channel Feb. 26. “In my opinion, such a meeting must take place as Yulia Tymoshenko is premier and Viktor Yanukovych a new president. The politicians must show responsibility. Whether they like it or not, but the meeting must take place, even if they have to clench their teeth,” Lytvyn went on.
The speaker said the absence of Tymoshenko and her party members at the inauguration indicated the lack of political culture demonstrated to the world community.
Asked how he reacted to the no-show of Viktor Yuahchenko at the inauguration, Lytvyn said, “It is the right of Yushchenko, but I am sure we have to finalize our traditions. We must be aware that one can’t hold one’s office for life and demonstrate tolerance and good manners.”
