Yushchenko, Kravchuk and Tymoshenko didn’t show up for Yanukovych inauguration. Tihipko was not invited
Of the former three Ukraine presidents, only Leonid Kuchma attended the inauguration ceremony in Verkhovna Rada. Both Yushchenko and Kravchuk had said earlier that they would skip the ceremony.Kravchuk and Kuchma attended Yushchenko’s swearing-in in 2005.
The Tymoshenko faction also didn’t show up, with all other factions present in force.
The ceremony was attended by some cabinet members, representatives of the judiciary, foreign guests, and diplomats.
Because of lack of seats in VR, journalists could watch the ceremony on monitors set in the lobby.
One of the favorites of the presidential race, Serhy Tihipko, was not invited to the ceremony. Speaking to The Delo, Tihipko said, “I was not invited. I’ll watch the ceremony with interest on television.”
