BYT finds replacement to Tymoshenko
Addressing journalists Feb. 24, Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn said BYT wants to appoint Vice Premier Ivan Vasiunyk acting premier. “They [BYT] want to pack up and quit the government building, leaving Vasiunyk as acting premier. I told them not to rush matters as, under the Constitution and law on the cabinet, the cabinet continues to act and be responsible for the executive power until the vote of no-confidence has been passed,” Lytvyn added, Novosti-n reports.
Simultaneously, if the BYT faction demands it premier dismissal, it should table a motion on sacking Tymoshenko, Lytvyn said. “Why engage in such games? Do you thin the Rada and me are spring chickens?” he said.
