Highlights of Yushchenko Feb. 16 press conference
Yanukovych declarations on BSF and gas consortium are a sell-out of Ukraine interests, Yushchenko said. Full responsibility for Ukraine’s future “colonial” policy regarding the continuation of the stationing of Russia Black Sea Fleet in Crimea, Yushchenko said, rests completely with Viktor Yanukovych and those Ukrainians who voted for him.
Such declarations by Yanukovych came as no surprise to him, Yushchenko admitted. “It saddens and humiliates me to hear these declarations. They discredit us as a nation.”
“Definitely, a change of political course is under way. It is a policy of subservience. I am not going to lecture to Yanukovych – it is his responsibility as well as the responsibility of those who voted for him,” Yushchenko said.
Yushchenko was exposed by journalists’ questions of being insincere and lying about the true reason why he had sacked governors Arsen Avakov and Viktor Bondar who sided openly with Yulia Tymoshenko. [The official reason was that the governors failed to ensure the impartial vote – Ed.]
However, when journalists asked Yushchenko why he hadn’t sacked Odesa governor who took the side of Yanukovych, Yushchenko said he had no information about it.

His term of office will be remembered as a complete failure. A man how betrayed a nation and all those who had placed their faith, hopes and dreams.
Yushchenko was the wrong choice.
Yulia's mistake was placing faith and trust in Yushchenko, he proved time and time again that he was not suited for the job and task at hand.
Yulia should have supported Moroz who was a wakeup to Yushchenko's failings.
The list of Yushchenko's mistakes and betrayal is long and support for yulia was not one of them.
