Yushchenko wants court to make short work of Tymoshenko protest. Tymoshenko decries pressure on court.
Lame-duck Pres Yushchenko met with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Administrative Court [the only court to address election-related suits], urging him to urgently examine the complaint lodged by Yulia Tymoshenko for alleged massive vote-rigging by her opponent Viktor Yanukovych.“I want to ensure legitimate transfer of power to the legitimate president [Yanukovych],” Yushchenko told the chief justice.
Meanwhile, Yulia Tymoshenko insists that her complaint be addressed by the full board of the SAC, UNIAN reports Oleksandr Turchynov as saying on Monday.
We have information that our opponents are exerting pressure on SAC to examine the complaint by a 5-strong team of specially selected judges, not the full SAC board, to ensure a positive verdict for Yanukovych.
Only consideration of the suit by a full SAC board can give a chance for an impartial ruling, Turchynov stressed.
