Naftohaz to get written consent from Gazprom not to fine Ukraine for gas purchases shortfalls
BYT accuses Regions of gas payments sabotage
The Party of Regions instigates gas utilities companies in the East of Ukraine to withhold payments for gas received from Ukrainians from the national Haz Ukrayina company. According to the BYT press service release, Regions intend to generate big gas payments arrears to thus jeopardize payments to Russia and blame it on the cabinet.According to the Haz Ukrayina, private gas utility companies in oblasts Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhia and Luhansk are the biggest deadbeats,” the BYT press release runs. It explains why private local gas utility companies fail to pay to Haz Ukrayina the money they collect from the populace for gas supplies.
In a stern statement, Premier Yulia Tymoshenko has set a payment deadline to private utility companies, threatening nationalization.
