Half a million Ukrainians subjected to police torture – human rights activist saysGen. Hennady Moskal wins lawsuit against Ukraine chief spy but gets no damages
The court rendered as libelous the information spread at a press conference on 06.11.2008 about Police General Moskal by Security Service chief Valentyn Nalyvajchenko and ordered Nalyvajchenko to disclaim his information within 10 days of the court decision coming into force.The court, however, refused to award Moskal UAH 100,000 he claimed in damages. Moskal has appealed the ruling in the Kyiv Court of Appeals.
There are currently 4 libel lawsuits in Kyiv courts filed by Moskal against SBU head Nalyvajchenko and his former deputy Gen. Durdynets.
