Ex-mayor of Lviv Bunyak decries appointment of chance person to responsible position
“A snafu is purposefully orchestrated in Ukraine. Inadequate, unprofessional and chance people have come to power. I mean the appointment of Taras Batenko, Our Ukraine functionary, as deputy head of the Druzhba Oil Pipelines Company. It is a senseless appointment as Batenko is miles away from the oil business. He doesn’t know what oil is,” was the comment to ZIK by former Druzhba general manager and ex-myor of Lviv Liubomyr Bunyak.Bunyak reminded that he had graduated from a Moscow institute, majoring in oil/gas pumping. All key jobs in the filed were taken by honest professionals with clean records. Now, unworthy and chance persons without any professional training are appointed. How can such managers run their companies? As a result, Ukraine is sliding toward a collapse. The present appointment is a clear manifestation of this, Bunyak complained.
Formerly, the Druzhba Company encompasses pipelines running through 7 Ukraine’s oblasts. Druzhba was mighty enough to build the 700-km long Odesa-Brody pipeline, the oil terminal in Odesa and other infrastructure. Later, the high-rollers in Kyiv decided to make the Lviv-based Druzhba a branch company. They did it to control the cash flow. It amounted to the destruction of the company. As a result, Druzhba ran up huge debts, Bunyak went on. .
