Our Ukraine lawmakers flout party convention resolution to quit coalition with BYUT
A NUNS lawmaker Eduard Zejnalov says he has no plans so far to quit the coalition with BYUT pursuant to Our Ukraine congress decision passed on June 29. He says he will first discuss it with his voters, Ukrayinska Pravda reports.“Before taking my decision, I would like to listen to members of the Kirovohrad party branch who nominated me. There is no knowing whether they will support the congress appeal to OU VR lawmakers to quit the coalition [and thus destroy it – Ed.],” Zeinalov said.
The party congress decision is not binding, he commented.
The Kirovohrad branch will meet in session on Saturday, he added.
Another OU lawmaker, Yury Kliuchkovsky, refused to comment when asked whether he will quit the coalition.
The Kyiv OU branch headed by Mykola Martynenko did not show up at the congress, accusing OU leaders with Pres Yushchenko as the party’s head of trying to destroy the present coalition with BYUT to suit their political ends.

our Ukraine is only a part of a wider faction "Our Ukraine - People's Self Defence". Any decision to withdraw support form the governing coalition MUST come from the parliamentary faction and not dictated to by Ukraine's President.
Yushchenko's tactic is to destabilise Ukraine's governing coalition in order to provide some pretense for Yushchenko dismiss the Parliament to hold another round of Parliamentary elections in October.
Problem is this tactic is most likely to fail with Our Ukraine failing to win any seats in parliament. The current OU-PSD faction would be dissolved and Yushchenko would seek to purge his party from who do not support his directions.
Yushchenko's acts more like a dictator then an advocate of democratic values.
