Premier Tymoshenko to come to Lviv to sort out wage arrears problem, sign agreement with Lviv oblast

Premier Yulia Tymoshenko is expected to come to Lviv Apr. 23 to discuss wage arrears payments to protesting Lviv Bus Plant workers. She will also sign an agreement on cooperation between the cabinet and the Lviv oblast, UNIAN quotes VR lawmaker Ivan Denkovych as saying.

On March 26, Lviv prosecutors opened an investigation against Lviv Bus Plant owner for its Russian-based owner deliberate refusal to pay back wages to workers and insurance payments into the Pension Fund.

Meanwhile, LBP employees went on strike, blocking the administration office.

The plant changed hands 2 years ago, with a new Russian owner pledging to start an extensive modernization program.

Last week, the LBP managing director was arrested and is kept in custody.

Also on Yulia Tymoshenko’s agenda is the signing of an agreement on cooperation between her cabinet and the Lviv oblast. Under the agreement, the Lviv oblast will get 4 billion hryvnia ($500 mn) in funding for the oblast’s most acute problems and new projects.

A similar agreement has been recently signed with the Donetsk oblast.
