Scenario to hold snap parliamentary elections in June-July being hatched by president’s office – Adam Martyniuk
Addressing his supporters in Ivano-Frankivsk March 25, heavyweight Communist lawmaker Adam Martyniuk warned a scenario to hold snap parliamentary elections is being hatched by the president’s office, a ZIK correspondent reports. In line with the scenario, the Party of Regions will be tempted to create a coalition with NUNS to sack the Tymoshenko cabinet. Bolstered up by the Ternopil elections that gave the PR a mind-boggling 10% support, the PR will now push for snap elections to VR, Martyniuk notes. However, Martyniuk doubts that BYUT and other lawmakers will vote to allocate hryvnia 500-700 million to hold the elections.
VR lawmakers are actively involved in drafting a new election law, he said. The Communists believe that the best scenario is to hold simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections.
