Yushchenko bristled when Barroso lectured him on need to mend fences with Yulia Tymoshenko
Pres Yushchenko believes the reconciliation with Premier Yulia Tymoshenko should be reached in Ukraine, not in Brussels, UNIAN quotes him as telling journalists in Brussels March 19. Yushchenko was commenting on EU Commission President Barroso call to Ukrainian leaders to stop quarreling and make it up."The answers to questions about how Ukraine politicians should cooperate are to be found in Ukraine, not in Brussels,” the incumbent said.
Pres Yushchenko stressed again that only a common goal, like a joint anti-recession action plan, can unite the embattled politicians [referring to himself and the premier].
Yushchenko rejected there is a personal feud between him and Tymoshenko. He said it humiliates him to be lectured by politicians in Europe. Only Ukrainians can settle the conflict, he declared.
The true cause of the conflict was the abortive constitutional reform in 2004 which so destabilized and confused the checks and balances that it is difficult for president and premier to cooperate now.
Without implementing the needed constitutional changes the Ukrainian regime will continue to meet with a lot of problems, he ended up.

And when the circus in Ukraine becomes so low, so egregious, so obnoxious, so obvious that it's painful to watch for the rest of the world - well, Yushchenko really needs to do a reality check.
Because Yushchenko may be seeing a pile of roses - but what the rest of the world sees is what makes the roses grow, without the roses - manure.
