President’s office crying wolf on coup by BYUT and Communists

According to the deputy head of president’s office, Andrij Kyslynsky, BYUT and its Communists allies are to start an impeachment procedure in Verkhovna Rada – when the incumbent is on a visit to Brussels this Thursday. They are actively canvassing the Party of Regions for support. All this indicates a start of a coup d’etat, the president’s office March 17 press release runs.

Meanwhile, Kyslunsky continues, the incumbent is determined to force leaders of the branches of power and the opposition to give up rhetoric and backstage politics and draw up a plan of concrete anti-crisis measures that would benefit Ukrainians and the state.

“Over the past period we saw super efforts by the president to launch a constructive dialog with the premier to forge common anti-crisis decisions. They took the shape of weekly meeting of the president, premier, VR speaker, opposition and Central bank aimed to resolve priority economic issues. Despite pessimistic forecasts, the efforts of the president resulted in VR adopting consolidated changes in the budget,” Kyslynsky stressed.

“Common efforts of the president and premier can be implemented on condition the parties abide by the moratorium on presidential campaigning proposed by the incumbent on Feb. 27, 2009 until July 1,” the officials noted.

“Another proof of Pres Yushchenko’s openness and preparedness for cooperation with Premier Tymoshenko is his joint participation in the European People’s Party summit,” Kyslynsky stressed.

“However, there are reasons to believe that Yushchenko’s initiatives for common actions in the interests of Ukraine’s development are not backed by Premier Tymoshenko. On the one hand, she demonstrates readiness to cooperate with the president, while, on the other hand, she is back to her September scenario [when BYUT voted with PR to clip Yushchenko’s wings], in her usual secret way,” Kyslynsky complained.

“Seeing on the example of Ternopil local elections that her approval ratings are dramatically sinking, the BYUT leader, instead of daily work to return the trust of Ukrainians, has focused on implementing the Communist-engineered scenario [of impeaching Yushchenko]. Her goal is to rewrite the Constitution and impeach the president and destabilize state power to suit her foreign-based factors. The premier also intends to set a political smokescreen to distract the attention of the people and hide her government’s inability to cope with the problems of Ukrainians,” Kyslynsky stressed.

    • Very well written, thank you. I hope my Ukrainian friends remember what happened here in America, because there are similarities with Tymoshenko and Obama, they speak out of both sides of their mouths. Vote for patriotism.
