Anatoly Hrytsenko launches Hromadyanska Pozitsiya (Civil Stand) NGO
A new Ukrainian NGO, Hromadyanska Pozitsiya (Civil Stand) was launched Dec. 11 in Kyiv. Former Defense Minister Anatoly Hrytsenko was elected head of HP by 40 delegates representing the country’s regions. The HP founding convention approved HP charter and elected its council, Oleh Matseh, head of the Civil Forum of Lviv NGO and member of HP council told ZIK Dec. 11.The HP council includes such renowned politicians and public figures as Borys Bezpaly, Volodymyr Horbulin, Serhy Hrynevetsky, political expert Anatoly Lutsenko, lawmaker Volodymyr Musiyaka, journalist Serhy Rakhmanov among others.
Under its charter, HP NGO will unite individuals, legal entities and other NGOs to promote the development of the rule-of-the law state. Its basic goals are protection of social, economic and political rights of its members.
HP will be a self-supported organization. Its regional organizations will not be funded from the central office. Instead, they will be self-supportive and funded by its members’ fees and donations.
HP will be closely involved in fighting lawlessness in Ukraine and improving the quality of life. To succeed in this, Ukrainians must learn how to stand by their rights and how to control the authorities.
