Tymoshenko predicts crisis and her tenure to continue for 2 more years
Premier Yulia Tymoshenko says the crisis in the economy will last for two more years. She was addressing her Nov. 24 cabinet session to revise the 2009 budget macro indicators. <P> “Macro indicators for 2009 won’t be optimistic. The economic growth in the past 8 months slowed down as world recession hit Ukraine,” she said.</P><P>“The world financial crisis is snowballing around the planet, gripping more and more countries, including Ukraine,” she added. </P>
<P>The government is to prepare new predicted indicators for 2009. The weakening of the hryvnia will make it necessary to revise the budget, the premier said. </P>
<P>“It will take 2 years for Ukraine to find its way out of the crisis,” Tymoshenko stressed. </P>
<P>“I am sure this government will shoulder the burden of overcoming the economic recession on the way to stable growth,” Yulia Tymoshenko concluded.</P>
