Yatseniuk is backed by 38% of Ukrainians, opinion poll says

The Center for Information Problems of Territories at the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences has released the results of its poll. According to it, the former speaker is backed by 38% of respondents, with 47.4% against and 14.6% undecided respondents. <P>As to the population segments, Yatseniuk enjoys most support among Ukraine’s intellectuals. He is not trusted by pensioners and workers. </P>
<P>As to geographical preferences, Arseny Yatseniuk has the most of his supporters in central and western oblasts, 48.4% and 47.4% respectively, and the least support in southern and eastern oblasts, 21.9% and 30.8% respectively. </P>
<P>The poll was run from Nov. 12 to 14. </P><B>

<P>The western region includes oblasts Zakarpatya, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Ternopil, Volyn abd Rivne;</P>
<P>The central region includes oblasts Khmelnytsk, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava and the capital Kyiv; </P>
<P>The eastern region includes oblasts Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk;</P>
<P>The southern region includes oblasts Odesa, Mykolayiv, Kherson, Zaporizhya and Crimea. </P>
<P>In all, 917 respondents proportionately taken from rural and urban areas were polled. </P></I></FONT>
