Prominent Ukrainian lawmaker dies in head-on car collision

The accident happened on Aug. 25 at 19.40 on a highway to Kyiv. The accident involved two cars in a head-on collision. M. Syrota drove his Toyota Camry and a 24-year old local was driving a Daewoo Lanos. Both drivers were killed. The lawmaker’s wife was taken to a Bila Tserkva hospital in serious condition.

“The road on the site of the crash is straight and neither car was passing other vehicles,” police say.
