Communists became buddies and allies of BYUT, Hanna Herman says

“I am not even going to mention how they [the ruling coalition parties] smear each other. These are the problems of those who cannot make up a good team,” she added.
Herman says Ukrainian politicians cannot side openly with any of the countries involved in the conflict in S Ossetia. “Ukraine has no national interests in S Ossetia. Ukraine leaders must not endanger their own people, defending foreign interests.”
Commenting on the allegedly passive stand taken in the conflict by Yulia Tymoshenko, Herman said this: “It was one of the few smart and clever moves by Tymoshenko. She is a smart politician and knows well how risky it is to get involved in the conflict. That is why, with her eye on the presidential election, she played the situation in a smart way. However, this kind of attitude does not tally with her campaign promises and the expectations of her voters in Western Ukraine. In so doing, she has betrayed them.”
Herman claims the Communists have become Tymoshenko allies. It was indicated by their refusal to vote for the government resignation in July. “The Communists and BYUT are very similar political forces." She is convinced that it will be difficult to sideline Yanukovych, claiming he has the highest rating among Ukrainian politicians.

According to deputy head of the presidential secretariat A. Kyslynsky, Viktor Medvedchuk will run Yulia Tymoshenko’s presidential campaign from a center created in Moscow. The center also includes Serhy Kliuyev, Grigory Surkis and Oleksandr Zadorozhnyj. Humanitarian projects will be supervised in Ukraine by Dmytro Tabachnyk. So far, $1 bn has been earmarked to run the Tymoshenko’s campaign, Andry Kyslynsky claims.
