Ukraine wary of Romania because it is an EU member, Lytvyn says
“While the Romanian president declared that the south of Ukraine must go to Moldova, the Ukrainian reaction was mute – they at the FM “are studying the issue”. The Ukrainian regime is unable to pursue a balanced foreign policy,” Volodymyr Lytvyn said, addressing a convention in Lutsk of the Volyn branch of his People’s party, ZIK reports May 26.The political stand-off in Ukraine has a negative impact on domestic and foreign policy, Lytvyn says. “Our Ukraine is after the votes of Crimean Tatars – so it says that they like. For its part, the Party of Regions is eating out of Moscow’s hand,” Lytvyn added.
“While the Romanian president says the south of Ukraine belongs to Moldova, our Foreign Ministry is mum, saying they are “studying the issue.” Tell me, please, is this a state-targeted policy? They are wary of Romania because it is in the EU and NATO. Moscow mayor got what he had coming, so why not Romania?” Volodymyr Lytvyn said.
