Interior Minister Lutsenko opts for death sentences for high-profile official crimes
Speaking to journalists on the heels of Pres Yushchenko’s meeting with law-enforcement officials Apr. 15, Interior Minister Yury Lutsenko said he favors the introduction of death sentences for serious crimes. -He then specified that he is supportive of death-by-shooting sentences for especially serious crimes against individuals.
As regards corruption, Lutsenko said officials should not be shot for malfeasance, but he did not rule out death sentences for grave offences performed by officials.
