Ukraine’s western and southern areas are among the most corrupt in Ukraine, Khoroshkovsky said before dismissing a score of customs officials in the Lviv oblast.

The head of the SCC gave two months to new Lviv oblast customs chief to rectify the situation, warning that O. Hoj will be dismissed in case of a failure. “I’ll keep firing officials until I put the customs service in order,” Khoroshkovsky said.

Prior to his new job, O. Hoj was head of the department coordinating the activities of tax bodies at the Tax Service of Ukraine.
