EU investor agrees to build terminal in Lutsk airport ahead of Euro-2012
An EU investor is prepared to build a terminal in the Lutsk airport on condition the project is put on the Euro-2012 government program as a stand-by facility for the Lviv airport, Lutsk deputy Governor Vasyl Bajtsym confirmed to ZIK March 13.The investor can build the terminal and the needed infrastructure (stores, offices, recreation centers, hotels) for his own money. The only condition is that the project must figure on the government program for preparations for the Euro-2012 tournament, the deputy governor says.
The project will cost between Euro 50 and 60 million, the official believes. Lutsk is not the only city seeking to become a reserve airport for Lviv. Lviv’s major rival is Ivano-Frankivsk. However, Lutsk boasts a modern runway which would cost several hundreds of millions to build.
