Former Lviv Governor Olijnyk caught out by “Dzerkalo tyzhnia”
“In fact, we received 67 billion euros to develop infrastructure and environmental safety, not to fund Euro-2012.We would have got the money even if there were no football tournament in Poland in 2012. We didn’t receive a cent from the EU budget to prepare for Euro-2-12,” Poland Minister of sport and tourism Miroslaw Drszewetski said in a interview with The Dzerkalo tyzhnia weekly (#9,March 8-14, 2008).Recently, the former Lviv Governor Petro Olijnyk stated that Poland had received 55 billion euros from the EU for staging Euro-2012 football tournament.
