Premier Tymoshenko signs regulation on spring draft into army

According to the Ukrayinska Pravda, in April-May 15,000 draftees will go to the armed forces, 5.7 thousand to interior ministry troops, and 900 to military traffic police. One of BYUT’s 2007 parliamentary campaign pledges was to cancel conscription as of Jan. 1, 2008 and switch over to a contract army.
