Employees of Lviv Airlines urge government to save their company from deliberate bankruptcy
Employees of Lvivski avialiniji (Lviv Airlines) company have appealed to Premier Yulia Tymoshenko to interfere and save their company from purposeful bankruptcy by its present managers who are scheming to sell the company cheap, head of the LA Independent Trade Union and Coordinating Council told ZIK March 5.Down follows an abridged letter to the PM:
“The LA CC and ITU have repeatedly informed you about the critical situation at the state-run company. This situation had been deliberately created by former governments and managers to bankrupt and sell the company cheap to unscrupulous crooks.
The past governments and present managers have steadily and blatantly tried to lead the company to financial insolvency, bankruptcy and eventual takeover. Specifically, incompetent managers (retired army officers and railway men) were appointed managers, regular flights have been stopped with a blessing from Kyiv officials, one IL-76 and two AN-12 passenger planes have been sold at ridiculously low prices, one Yak-42 plane was disassembled at a loss of $360,000, among other wrongdoing.
We appeal to you to help the state-owned company to start its work and appoint competent managers to prevent our formerly profit-making company from falling into the hands of dishonest crooks.”
