Six unidentified Lviv politicians to attend Regions-organized convention in Siverskodonetsk

Six Lviv politicians will take part in a convention of deputies of all levels due to be held in Siverskodonetsk in Donbas, Party of Regions Lviv branch press secretary Yury Kril said in his Feb. 29 statement to ZIK.

Yury Kril refused to identify members of the Lviv delegation. He mentioned that a Verkhovna Rada lawmaker, Petro Pysarchuk, is expected to attend the convention.

At noon, Feb. 29, it became know that Petro Pysarchuk suffered an attack of hypertension and had to cancel his trip to Siverskodonetsk, the lawmaker’s press secretary Natalya Olenets told ZIK.

According to her, the attack of hypertension was the result of the attempt on the lawmaker’s life late 2000.

A delegation of Lviv Pora local council deputies will take part in the convention, Pora member and Lviv council secretary Volodymyr Kvurt said Feb. 29. He said Pora members, who will gate-crash on the convention, are interested in the reaction of predominantly pro-Yanukovych delegates.

V. Kvurt also refused to name Pora Lviv deputies who will attend the Donbas convention.

Comment by the ZIK information agency

According to the Party of Regions official website, the second convention of deputies of all levels will open in Siverskodonetsk, Luhansk oblast, March 1. There are four items on its agenda: violations of the rights of local and regional self-governments, systemic violations of the rights of Russian-speaking Ukrainians, falsification and revision of Ukraine’s historical past, and Ukraine’s proclaimed non-affiliation status and attitude to NATO.
