Lviv: new oblast governor to take up the reins on Feb. 28

At 11:00 a.m. on Feb. 28, a new Lviv governor, Mykola Kmit, will be introduced by a representative of presidential secretariat to local politicians, first deputy governor Oleksandr Hanushchyn told ZIK.

It is not known yet who will come from Kyiv to introduce the new governor.

“Mykola Kmit is a dynamic and balanced person. I don’t think, there will be any major reshuffling in the Lviv oblast administration,” Hanushchyn said.

Strangely, at 19.15, there is no presidential decree appointing Kmit acting governor on Yushchenko’s website.

Comment by the ZIK information agency

Mykola Kmit, 42, is president and co-owner of the IDS Holding, a big Ukrainian business involved in bottling and selling spa waters Morshynska and Myrhorodska.

Mykola Kmit is not a deputy or member of any Ukrainian political party.
