Ivano-Frankivsk mayor threatens to resign and disband city council
In his Feb. 26 statement at the city council session, Ivano-Frankivsk Mayor Viktor Anushkevichus said:”In view of the inability to work for the good of the community, I’ll be forced to motion the council dismissal and resign myself. Let the voters take their decision in a pre-term election,” ZIK reported Feb. 27.The mayor made this statement following the refusal by the deputies to consider the distribution of the city’s $21-million budget on a case-by-case basis, with only 15 UNP lawmakers in support of the issue being addressed by the council.
The mayor, however, insists on a fast-track consideration, saying the city cannot implement crucial programs.

Our Ukraine has 22 deputies in the city council, BYuT 17, “For Victor Anushkevichus” bloc 9, Party of Regions 4, Pora 3, Kostenko and Pliushch bloc 3 and National Choice bloc 2.
