Angered leader of BYuT faction in Volyn oblast council smashes car, then assaults Volyn oblast official
According to our well-informed sources, on Jan. 30 the leader of BYuT faction in the Volyn oblast council, Oleksandr Svyryda, found himself in the center of a high-profile scandal when he purposefully damaged a car of one of the oblast officials and then assaulted him. Following the incident, the official was taken to hospital suffering from a heart attack. The incident happened on a parking lot near the Volyn oblast administration where O. Svyryda parks his Lexus. On this day when he intended to pick up his car, he saw that the passage was blocked by a car belonging to deputy head of the oblast department for culture and tourism Leonid Mykhailovsky. Without any hesitation, the BYuT lawmaker pushed the blocking car out of the way and left the parking lot.
Coming up to his badly damaged car, the owner spotted the Lexus’ number plate that went off as its owner was forcing his way out of the parking lot. Mr Mykhailovsky called the police who later detained Mr Svyryda.
After being questioned by the police, Mr Svyryda rushed to the Mykhailovsky’s office. However, he was not going to apologize. Instead, he attacked the official, trying to strangle him and swearing all the time. It was too much for Mr Mykhailovsky – he had a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital.
The incident is something the BYuT leaders should really think about.
