Lutsenko goons hit Chernivtsi-based Party of Regions deputy and businessman

His colleague Ihor Dudka stressed that on April 29 deputy Ihor Khalamenda received 8 gun wounds, with two bullets hitting his head and the rest his back. However, the police had not launched any investigation, he said. “After Yury Lutsenko had become interior minister, repressions against Torhovy servis and directly against businessman Khalamenda intensified,” Dudka added. 
Simultaneously, Ihor Khalamenda’s house was searched by police at 6.00 a.m. on Jan. 19 on a writ issued by the Kolomia court in 2006. The other businessman’s house in Rybne, Tysmenytsia rayon, was searched without any court writ. On Jan. 20, riot police raided the offices of Torhovy servis, detaining all the 14 employees who were present there. Some of the detainees were released at 20.00, while others were freed only after they appealed to court. The police put up “insubordination” as the reason for the arrests.
The businessman’s house was again searched Jan. 24. Its owner is currently taking medical treatment in Kyiv.
 “The police are well aware who contracted the hit on deputy Ihor Khalamenda. Strangely, the accident has been qaulified by the police as “hooliganism,” not “the attempted murder.”
