Stepan Bandera medal to be awarded to all who fought for independent Ukraine

The Bandera medal will be awarded to all fighters for the independence of Ukraine, regardless of their membership in various nationalist organizations or specifics of fighting. The medal can be given to combatants of Ukraine’s various military formations and to individual resistance fighters, the head of the Lviv branch of the Congress of Ukrainian Nationalists, Mykola Pshevlotsky, says.

“The big idea is that this medal should unite the nation. We are going to announce a nation-wide contest for the medal’s design in February-March. Hopefully, the contest will help spread the word about our aims,” he added.

CUN’s Lviv branch intends to implement the Stepan Bandera medal project in 2008, the year of Stepan Bandera to be marked in Ukraine. “It’s for VR deputies to finally approve the medal. However, our lawyers have drawn out the medal’s concept and the draft law legalizing the medal as Ukraine’s state award. Soon, all these materials will be posted on our website. Then we’ll send them to legislators,” M. Pshevlotsky said.

    • Stefan Bandera was a great patriot for his people--his memory is honored in this award--This is a fine tribute to a forgotten man of immense courage--may all men of courage have the spirit of Bandera. Let the women of Ukraine reject all idiotic feminist influence that dooms a nation---may the men of Ukraine forever ban public homosexuality--Bandera was a macho---not a weak sissy--honor his memory--reject bizarre feminists
