Bribery lawsuit filed against Lutsk justice department officials
Volyn Oblast Security Service (SBU) has accused one of the key officials of the state bailiffs service of extorting money to stop court proceedings and lift the arrest on property of one of Lutsk oblast residents, SBU press service told ZIK Jan. 18.The resident tipped off SBU and requested protection.
SBU jointly with prosecutors raided the official’s office at the time when the $1,800-bribe was handed over to him.
After the search, the money was found in the pocket of one of the bailiffs present in the office.
SBU has detained three officials, opening a criminal investigation on the strength of Art. 368. of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
